Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship will be holding a free Open House to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the services that it offers to children and adults with special needs. This fun, family orientated day will include demonstrations by our talented students highlighting the programs that Ride On provides including therapeutic riding and hippo therapy – physical therapy on horseback. There will be plenty of entertainment and fun activities for children including stick horse crafts, jolly jump, pony petting, face and hair painting and a horseshoe hunt. There will also be staff and board members on hand to talk about volunteer and involvement opportunities. The Open House will also recognize the support of the community and the partnership with Conejo Recreation and Park District. The event will be held at 401 Ronel Court, Newbury Park between 10am – 2pm. Lunch will be served by local Rotarians between 11.30am and 1pm, the event is free and public are encouraged to attend. Country music star Randy Travis will perform live at William Shatner’s Wells Fargo Hollywood Charity Horse Show. The renowned charity event will celebrate its 18th year of fundraising with a roof-raising, spectacular affair at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Guests will be treated to an exciting arena event with performances by the Rancho Indalo Riders featuring trick riding, knife tossing and whip-cracking antics. A Western dinner follows with a special live performance by Travis, a Grammy-winning singer/songwriter.
Proceeds will benefit special-needs children across the City of Los Angeles through local charities Ahead With Horses and Camp Max Straus Foundation. The arena show begins at 5:30 p.m. and the Western dinner party, silent auction and Travis show follows from 7-10 p.m. in the venue’s Equestrian Room.
